Worx Turbine Leaf Blowers | Corded and 40V Cordless

Worx WG585 40v Cordless Air Turbine Leaf Blower Review:

The Worx WG585 is a new model from Worx. They are a leading manufacturer of high performance leaf blowers since 1981. Their line includes several models including the WG585, the WG586, the WG587 and many others. All their products have been designed with reliability in mind. They have always had excellent customer service.

The WG585 is a cordless leaf blower that uses a propane or natural gas engine to create powerful suction. The motor drives the blades at speeds up to 15,000 rpm. The unit comes with two different sizes of blades (6″ and 8″) which can be used for both vertical and horizontal cuts. The blade size is adjustable so that it will work well for most types of wood. The unit weighs just over 4 pounds and measures 9 inches wide x 11 inches long x 7 1/2 inches tall.

It’s only disadvantage is its price tag of $1,299.99 which makes it out of reach for some homeowners.

• Propane or Natural Gas Engine – Both Work Well!

• Powerful Turbocharger For Maximum Power!

• Blower Power and Suction Is Independent of Engine Speed!

The Good:

This leaf blower is just an amazing machine. The fact that it uses a propane or natural gas engine makes this one of the cheapest to operate leaf blowers on the market. That means this blower can save you money in the long run while providing excellent power and performance. The engine uses a turbocharger which allows it to produce high air flow at any RPM. The high volume of air is great for quickly clearing all types of yard waste.

The blower tube also has a fan nozzle that can be adjusted to increase or decrease the width of the suction. The WG585 also includes a 12 inch vacuum hose that can be used for extended reach. You can use the hose with your choice of either a 6 inch or 8 inch cutting diameter.

The Bad:

This leaf blower has one major drawback, and that’s its price! At $1,299.99 it is one of the most expensive leaf blowers on the market. It does have a powerful engine and top of the line performance but it may be out of reach for some homeowners. Another possible issue is its weight, at 9 pounds it is not the lightest leaf blower out there.

Other than that it really is a great product.

Worx WG580 40v Cordless Air Turbine Leaf Blower:

The WG580 is an updated version of the WG500 / WG600 series. It has been equipped with a new and improved battery with a longer run time. The battery can also be used with other WORX 40V tools. If you already own other WORX tools, this can greatly reduce the initial cost. The WG580 can be used for all your outdoor clean up jobs.

The Good:

This blower is very easy to use thanks to its pistol grip design. You just hold it like a pistol and start blowing. The unique shape makes it very comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Power is provided by a 40V MAX lithium ion battery which gives it superior performance over traditional batteries. The WG580 can blow at speeds up to 140 MPH and has a blowing range of up to 30 feet!

This makes it great for handling all types of yard waste. It is also very light weight at just over 5 pounds making extended use easy. It is also compact, measuring a little over 10 inches long and 7 inches high. The small size makes storage easy.

The Bad:

The only possible issue with this blower is the battery life. Since it uses a 40V battery, you will burn through it a lot quicker than with a lower voltage battery. The battery also takes around an hour to fully charge which can be an inconvenience if you need to quickly clean up some yard waste. The WG580 is also fairly expensive, costing around $400.

The Bottom Line:
