In exchange for this disadvantage, the tape itself is much thinner and more flexible so it’s more comfortable to wear around your neck and less likely to get caught on things.
Normally this type of tape measure can only be found in high-end specialty stores that sell tools or on places like eBay. If you’re looking for one of these, be prepared to spend over $200 on one of them. In exchange for this high price, most running tape measure models come with a 10 year warranty.
Price is one of the easiest things to compare between different tape measures. The cheapest tape measures can be found for as little as $10, although these cheap ones tend to be somewhat inaccurate and have low-quality materials in their construction.
High-end tape measures made with the highest quality materials can cost well over $1,000. These types of tape measures are mainly meant to be a collector’s item rather than something that gets used on a regular basis.
If you’re looking for a tape measure to use on a day-to-day basis, then you’re going to want to spend between $30 and $200 on one.
