Skil Octo Sander 7302 Preview
The skil octo sanders are designed to be used with sand paper. They have been specially made so that they will not scratch your screen when using them. If you want to use it without sanding, then just place the pad on top of the screen and start applying pressure. You can apply it over a small area or a large one depending on how much time you need to do something with it. There are two types of skil octo sanders: 1) The one that comes with the machine; 2) Those that come from different manufacturers.
1. The Original Skil Octo Sander 7302
It’s called “Original” because it was first released in 2008 and still available today. It has a simple design and easy to operate controls. Its main advantage is its price which is around $100 (USD). However, it does not have many features compared to other models.
2. The Skil Octo Sander 7302-02
This model is similar to the original skil octo sander but has some improvements such as better dust protection and a new design that makes it easier to clean. It costs $150 (USD). Although it has improved features than the original skil octo sander, there are still some drawbacks like limited dust protection and no cleaning function.
3. The Skil 7302-04
This is the last and most advanced version of the skil octo sander. It can be used for more than just sanding your screen. You can use it for scraping, stripping paint, and even as a sander when you use the correct attachments. There are also many other types of attachments that are sold separately from various manufacturers. They are cheap and make this tool even more versatile.
You can buy them for $30 (USD) each.
Things to Consider When Using Skil Ocat Sander 7302-02
If you want to achieve great results when using a skil octo sander, then you should be aware of some things. Here are some of them:
1. You should learn how to use the machine properly and safely.
Watch some online videos, read some blogs, and even take a class in your local DIY store.
2. Always read and follow the manual that comes with your tool.
It contains very useful information on how to take care of it and use the different features.
3. Wear protective equipment like goggles, earplugs, gloves, and dust mask.
4. Do not overdo it when applying pressure or else you will just scratch the surface and ruin all your work.
5. If it gets too hot, turn it off and let it cool down before continuing.
6. Some people suggest applying wax on the screen before using your skilsander to minimize dust.
Do not do this as it will cause the sandpaper to clog too quickly.
There are many different types of tools that can be used when restoring your LCD or plasma screen. These tools include dremels, flexshafts, and even basic drill attachments. You can buy or rent these machines. In any case, you should always use the right tool for the job. Using a skil sander for the wrong purpose is going to ruin it or even damage the screen.
Always use the right tool for what you are working on at that moment.
In this video you can see how to use sandpaper with your skil sander.
How to Use the Skil 7302-04 to Clear Coat Your TV
Using a sander or buffer is just one of the steps in preparing the surface for clear coating your screen. If you want a flawless finish, then you will need to practice on an old television set first. Here is more information on how to prepare a surface for clear coating:
Step 1 – Get a flat and clean surface.
First, you will need a flat and even surface that is free from dust, smudges and other impurities. The easiest way to do this is by using water-based sandpaper to even out the screen’s profile. First use a 600 grit sandpaper then move on to a 1000 grit. Alternatively, you can also use an electric sander or buffer that has a fine coating of silicon carbide. After this, get a damp cloth and wipe the screen clean.
If you are working on an older screen, then you may need to use other methods. For example, if there are scratches that you need to remove, then you can fill them in with wood filler before sanding them down. If there are dents, you can apply wood putty and then sand it smooth before wiping it clean.
Step 2 – Wipe the screen down with Isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol.
Once you have a smooth and even surface, it is important that you wipe it down with a damp cloth that has Isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol. This helps get rid of any grease or other residue on the surface that would hinder your project in the future. You can also use a special product like T.cut to do this as well. This is optional but it does help.
Step 3 – Give it one last visual check.
After wiping down the screen with alcohol, you can do one more visual check for anything that may hinder your project such as smudges or scratches. If you find anything, then you can use a cotton swab with Isopropyl alcohol to clean the area.
Step 4 – Clear coating prep.
Now, you must prepare the surface for the clear coating. This means giving it plenty of time to dry and also making sure that it is dust free. The best way to do this is by using a hairdryer on high heat and pointing all the air flow directly at the screen. This will blow away any dust or other impurities that may have been missed during previous cleaning.
Step 5 – Apply the clear coating.
Use a soft cloth and apply the UV protective coating directly to the screen in a smooth and even fashion. Try to avoid leaving puddles or pools of it as this may cause streaks. Do not apply too much either as this can lead to bubbles. Use a different clean portion of the cloth for each area you are coating to make sure you are not spreading any dirt around either.
