New Ryobi 18V One+ Tools for Spring 2015
Ryobi is a well known brand name in the home improvement industry. They are famous for their high quality products at low prices. Their products have been used by millions of people around the world since they were first introduced in the early 1990’s.
The company was founded in 1981 by Kenji Nakamura and Shigeyuki Takahashi. Since then, they have grown into a global household appliance manufacturer with over 2,000 employees worldwide.
They are best known for their line of electric tools such as cordless drills, screwdrivers, wrenches and other hand tools. These tools are designed to perform tasks like drilling holes or cutting through sheetrock without damaging them.
In addition to these tools, they also offer a variety of other products including window coverings, wallcovering materials and insulation. They even sell small appliances such as coffee makers and microwaves.
Ryneo is a subsidiary of Ryobi that specializes in selling electrical equipment. Their main product lines include lighting fixtures, power strips and electronic outlets. They also produce some industrial grade electrical components for use in factories and large facilities.
The first Ryobi cordless tools were introduced in 1991. They revolutionized home improvement by eliminating the hassle of dealing with power cords or having to swap out batteries for each tool. These tools are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
The first tools included a drill, a circular saw and a cordless screwdriver. Since then, the company has grown and expanded their tools to include a wide range of cordless power tools. These devices are now available in a wide range of from 1.5 volts all the way up to 18 volts.
The original 18 volt tools are still some of the most popular devices for home improvement projects. The batteries can last up to 3 times longer than the more powerful 36-volt devices. These tools also tend to be smaller and lighter weight, allowing users to work for extended periods of time without getting fatigued.
The latest tools in their 18V line are the Ryobi One+ tools. These devices combine the older 18V lithium-ion batteries with a unique quick-lock system. This allows the batteries to be connected together in varying sizes to create higher voltage tools.
A 9.6V battery and a 12V battery can be connected together, for example, to create a tool that delivers between 9.6 and 12 volts of power.
In addition to new tools, the company has also introduced several new types of batteries. The newest battery is a lithium-ion power tool battery that provides up to 2.6 times more run time than traditional 18V batteries.
It also charges up to 40 percent faster than other devices on the market.
Several of these tools, including the drill, circular saw and reciprocating saw can be purchased individually or in a variety pack called the “3-Tool Combo Kit.” This kit includes two batteries, a charger and a tool bag.
Rounding out their product line are a number of safety products such as safety glasses, earplugs and face shields. These products are reasonably priced and provide protection and peace of mind for DIY homeowners.
In addition to tools and batteries, the company also offers a wide range of hand and power tools. These devices are both lithium-ion powered, but feature different voltages. The higher the voltage, the more powerful the tool and longer it will run before needing to be recharged.
The most basic tools in the Ryobi One+ line are the drills and drivers. These devices are available in a wide range of voltages from 6 volts all the way up to 36 volts. This is to allow users to match the voltage of the device to the job at hand.
A 6-volt device is generally used for screwdriving or other lightweight jobs. 12-volts is the standard voltage for most DIY projects.
Higher voltage devices are capable of tougher jobs, such as drilling into concrete or driving large screws into wood. These tools are also useful when working on heavy duty projects such as building a deck or fence.
The higher voltage devices also allow users to perform work without being tied to an electrical outlet. The 18V, for example, can run for up to 4 hours on a fully charged battery. This is more than enough time to drill hundreds of screws into wood before the battery needs to be recharged.
Several products in this line feature a quick-lock system. This allows the batteries to be easily switched out with minimal effort. Just unlock the battery from the tool and slide a fresh one in its place.
This type of system is especially useful when working on larger projects, such as deck building or fence construction. It allows users to keep working without having to stop to recharge.
Additionally, the Ryobi One+ line features jigs and guide systems. These are designed to make it easier to perform straight cuts when using a circular saw. They can also be used as a guide when making repetitive cuts, such as when installing vinyl siding.
The company offers a wide range of these devices, including a wide base for increased stability, a T-square style for making 90 degree cross cuts or a rolling guide that can be attached to any type of saw.
The Ryobi One+ tool system also offers 5 types of lamps, including a spotlight, a headlamp, a cordless floodlight and work lights with and without stands. These devices run on either 6-volts or 12-volts and are great for working in dark places, such as under the kitchen sink or in the attic.
The company’s most recent addition is a line of air compressors. These devices run on either a 12-volt battery or a charger and can fill up an average car tire in only a few minutes. This is especially useful when out on the road and a driver discovers that his spare is completely flat.
A screwdriver with multiple bits, a cordless sander, an oscillating tool and a hedge trimmer round out the rest of the One+ product line. These devices offer users an alternative to corded tools and help complete a wide range of jobs around the house.
Looking at the wide range of power tools offered by Ryobi, it is easy to see why this small company has grown so quickly. Customers that buy one Ryobi product are often pleasantly surprised by how much they like it and come back to buy others. This is why, when shopping for power tools, it is always a good idea to check out the entire One+ product line before making a final purchasing decision.
