Milwaukee RedLithium USB Hard Hat Headlamp

Milwaukee RedLithium USB Hard Hat Headlamp Review: What’s in the Box?

The first thing you will notice when opening the box is that it comes with a couple of things. One is a small tool to remove the hard hat from its case. You can use this tool to make sure your hard hat is secure enough before putting it back into its case. The other item is a small bag which contains some extra batteries. These batteries are what power the flashlight.

The second thing you will see inside the box is a black hard hat. It looks like it was made out of plastic or metal, but I’m not really sure since I don’t have any idea how they got it out of my office desk drawer without me noticing.

Anyway, it’s a nice looking hard hat so I’ll take it!

Inside the box you will also find two different types of batteries. One type is rechargeable lithium ion batteries.

They last about four hours on high brightness mode and five hours on low brightness mode. The other battery type is a regular AA alkaline battery which lasts up to six months between charges. You may choose one of these two types of batteries depending upon your needs.

The next thing you will see is a small instruction manual which briefly explains how to use your new hard hat light. It also describes the two different types of batteries, and cautions you to never mix the two battery types when powering the light.

And that’s everything that comes in the box! It may not look like much, but this hard hat light can be very handy indeed.

The next section will tell you about the various features of this hard hat light and how to use it.

How to Use This Hard Hat Light

This hard hat light is very easy to use. The following are the different parts of this hard hat light and what they are used for.

The red switch turns the light on and off. ON = the flashlight is on and stays on until you turn it off. There is no way to make it blink or turn it off unless you take out the batteries.

Now that you know the different parts of this hard hat light and what they are used for, let’s look at the instructions which come with the box. You will see a section labeled “Instruction Manual” on page 3.

You will find a helpful booklet inside the box which describes how to use this hard hat light. This book is written in English, but some of the words are in a different color. These words are the same meaning as the words in black, but the words in red are defined as being “informative” and “not required for operation”. The words colored blue are “important” and “must be followed”. The words in Green are merely “recommended” but should also be followed.

Upgrading your hard hat is as easy as changing the batteries. This hard hat light is compatible with standard round battery types and will work when used with Duracell, Energizer, Panasonic, and UltraLast branded batteries.

You are free to use any combination of these batteries, but we recommend using all UltraLast batteries for the maximum battery life and longest run time. You may also use rechargeable lithium ion cells if you prefer. Either way, these specialty batteries will last for years and will never leak or corrode. Of course if you use regular alkaline batteries, they will not last as long or provide as much light because they are not as powerful.

If you don’t like the bright white beam of light that this hard hat light puts out, then you can also change the lens. The included clear lens has the brightest beam, but you may also choose from a red, green, or blue lens which will change the beam color.

Simply unscrew the bezel to access the lens and then unscrew the old lens to replace it with one of your choosing. The beam color will not be as bright as the beam from the clear lens, but it will still provide illumination for whatever purpose you need it for.

Of course it also keeps your head from getting hurt if you bump into something or if something falls on your head. It fits most adults and can even be adjusted small enough to fit a child’s head.

It is important that the hard hat is adjustable to fit your head properly. Buckle it tight and make sure the top of the hard hat is at the same height as the top of your head. If you need more light, then try using one of the higher numbered brightness settings. If that does not give you enough light then try changing the lens to one of a different color.

Note: if you are using cheaper alkaline batteries instead of UltraLast batteries, then you may need to adjust the brightness setting or change the lens to get the proper illumination. This is because alkaline batteries do not last as long and provide less voltage than UltraLast batteries.

They are cheap, but they are not as good for high drain devices such as this hard hat light.

If your hard hat becomes damaged, you may exchange it at any local branch of the US Mail and we will refund the purchase price. If you have any questions, call our toll free number, which is 1-800-BUY-SOMETHING.
