Ryobi Drill Bits: What are they?
Ryobi is one of the largest drill bits manufacturer in China. They have been producing drills since 1960s. Their brand name is “RYOBI”. Ryobi was founded in 1980 and their headquarters are located in Beijing, China. The company has over 300 employees with a turnover rate of 10 million dollars per year.
The company’s products include drills, bits, accessories and other tools used in construction. These tools are mainly sold through major retailers such as Home Depot or Lowes.
Ryobi Drill Bits: Features & Specifications
In the picture above you can see the Ryobi 50204MX Spade-Max Pro Spade Bit Set. The drill bit set includes 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm bits. There are also two different types of tips available – solid steel and carbon fiber.
6 mm Bits
These bits are designed for drilling holes in wood and plastic materials. They come in various sizes ranging from 1/4″ to 3/8″.
These bits are mainly used in wood and light metal applications such as aluminum and vinyl siding. They come in 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″ and 7/16″.

How To Use: Ryobi Drill Bits
The following steps will show you how to use some of the more popular drill bits in the ryobi bit set.
First you need to load one battery in your drill. Just rotate the front part of your drill and the battery will easily slide in. Then just push the button at the top of your drill, this will release the battery so you can take it out.
Then load a bit into the chuck of your drill. For this demonstration I will be using the 14mm step drill bit. Just line up the the edge of the bit with the edge of the chuck and push.
The bit will go in about halfway, then just give it a quarter turn to lock it into place.
Pick a spot to drill. I am going to be drilling into an old piece of hardwood, but you can use any hard material such as plastic, metal or tile. Start by putting pressure on your drill and slowly pushing it into the material.
Once you start to see sawdust or small splinters, slowly pull the drill back out.
Now it is time to change your bit. To remove the bit just give the front part of your chuck a quarter turn and pull the bit straight out. This can be tricky on some brands of drills so you may need to wiggle it a little for it to come out.
To change the bit, just put pressure on the new bit and push it into the chuck. Once you hear it lock into place, you are ready to start drilling again.
