Masterforce Tools Reviews: What’s the Difference Between Lithium-Ion Battery and Li-Po Battery?
Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable batteries which have a higher energy density than other types of battery. They come in many different sizes, shapes, capacities and voltages. A lithium ion battery is considered one of the most versatile battery technologies available today because they can store a large amount of charge for long periods of time without requiring recharging or replacement.
Li-Po batteries are rechargeable batteries which contain a small amount of nickel metal hydride (NiMH) cells instead of the traditional lead acid or lithium battery. NiMH cells have been shown to provide longer run times than standard lead acid and lithium batteries. These batteries offer greater power output, but require more maintenance and charging procedures than their non-rechargeable counterparts.
The main difference between these two types of battery is how they work when fully charged. When fully charged, a lithium-ion battery will produce approximately 50% more electricity than a li-po battery. However, if the battery is discharged completely, it will lose its ability to hold a charge and eventually discharge entirely.
How Does Lithium-Ion Battery Work?
A lithium-ion battery stores energy in three chemical forms: positive (+), negative (-) and neutral (O). During use, the battery goes through a process called intercalation, where energy is either withdrawn or inserted into the battery. During intercalation, these three chemicals break apart and bond to each other, releasing electrons as a byproduct.
As the negative (-) and positive (+) chemicals bond with one another during intercalation, electrons are released and stored in the middle (0). This process causes the release of a small burst of electrons which can be harnessed as electricity.
