Makita Dust Extractor Review: Pros
The Makita dust extractors are extremely light weight and easy to carry around from one job-site to another.
The dust extractors are durable and have a long lasting battery life.
With the proper care and maintenance, you can expect your dust extractor to last for years without having problems. Just remember that these dust extractors are electronic and don’t work when the battery has died.
These dust extractors also come with a convenient charging station, so you can quickly charge your battery without any hassle.
The filters in these dust extractors are easy to remove, clean, and replace.
The filters for the dust extractors don’t need to be replaced very often either.
These dust extractors are fairly quiet when running and they can easily be used without causing a big disturbance.
It’s easy to see what percentage of filter is blocked by simply looking at the clear tube.
Makita Dust Extractor Review: Cons
Although the battery life is long, a spare battery would be a good idea if you’re working in an area without electricity.
The dust extractor is fairly large when the dust container is full.
The dust extractor doesn’t come with a carrying strap or handle. You might want to consider buying one if mobility is important to you.
The dust extractor can be a little bit noisy, so you might not want to use it without ear protection.
Makita Dust Extractor Review: Customer Feedback
The Makita dust extractor range has been receiving positive feedback from customers. Most of the customers were satisfied with their purchase and would recommend it to other people. However, some of the reviews did mention certain negative issues concerning this product.
These are issues that have been mentioned in other customer feedback that I have come across when researching the product.
One customer found that their dust extractor didn’t work, even after following the instructions. The reason why it didn’t work was because it wasn’t compatible with the USA electrical system. The solution to this problem is to buy a step-up transformer to make it compatible with your country’s electrical system.
Another customer’s dust extractor stopped working about a year after purchase. The reason behind this was that the on/off switch had broken inside the handle where it could not be fixed. A third customer found that the filter clogged up quickly when cutting MDF.
The Makita dust extractors are a great solution for people who want to use a saw but don’t have a lot of storage space or for people who want to cut more quietly. These dust extractors are perfect for both of these situations. The Makita dust extractors are especially good if you are working in a small area such as an apartment or a small workshop, where the size and storage space is limited.
They are also great when cutting in areas such as a home theater room.
The main thing that I didn’t like about the dust extractors is that they can be quite expensive and the filters do not last very long at all. It would be a good idea to buy some reusable filters or to at least buy a few extra filters.
While these dust extractors are generally quite good, there are other options that you might want to consider if you’re looking for a dust extractor. There is a new product called the “Dust Deputy” which is made by the company WoodPeckers. It is a great alternative to the Makita dust extractors and can be used with any saw.
I have written a full review of the Dust Deputy here.
