Makita Premium Diamond Blades Improve Performance and Life

Makita Premium Diamond Blade Improve Performance and Life

The Makita 4-Inch Diamond Blade Lowes are the best quality blades available today. They have been used in many professional grinders and they work just like their larger brothers do. However, these smaller blades are much easier to use than the larger ones because of their size.

There are two types of Makita 4-inch Diamond Blades:

1) The 6″ Makita 4-Inch Diamond Blade (the most common one).

These blades come with a standard 3/8″ shank. You will need to order this type if you want a shank that is at least 3/4″. If your shank is less than 3/4″, then you must get the 5″ version instead.

2) The 8″ Makita 4-Inch Diamond Blade (the rarest Makita Diamond Blade).

These blades come with a special “Diamond Shaft.” This means that the shank is made from a single piece of high carbon steel. Because of this, it is very hard and durable.

A typical shank diameter for this type would be 1/2″ or even 1″. So if your shank is less than 1/2″, then you must get the 8″ version instead.

Most people should choose the 6″ version because the 5″ version is only an inch shorter. The 8″ version is really only for people who already own a 1″ or larger diameter grinder. If you need to go smaller than 4″, then you should choose a 3″ instead.

Remember, the smaller the blade, the more likely it is to break.

After you have chosen the correct version, you will need to choose the diameter of the wheel that it is designed to fit on. These blades fit on wheels that have the following diameter:

1) 1/2″ (this will fit most 5″ angle grinders and all 4.

5″ angle grinders).

2) 5/8″ (this will only fit on a very small number of 5″ angle grinders).

3) 3/4″ (this will fit most 4″ angle grinders and many 5″ angle grinders).

4) 1″ (this will fit most 8″ angle grinders and the Makita MVT1000 Cab-Plus grinding machine).

Most people should choose either a 1/2″, 5/8″ or 3/4″ blade. A 1″ blade is only for people who already own the expensive Makita MVT1000 Cab-Plus grinding machine. The 1/2″ blade will fit most grinders, but you can save a little money by choosing the 5/8″ version instead of it.

The last thing that you will need to choose is what style of arbour ( Shank ) your grinder has. There are two different types:

1) A 3/8″ straight shank with a flat end (most common).

2) A 3/8″ straight shank with a hexagonal end.

Most people should choose a 3/8″ straight shank with a flat end. However, if you have a very old grinder, then it may have a 3/8″ straight shank with a hexagonal end.

Diamond blades need to be SHARP in order to work properly. A dull diamond blade is more likely to break. So before you use a diamond blade, you should consider getting a quality diamond blade sharpener ( available here…).

When your diamond blade becomes dull, you can send it back to the manufacturer (if it is under warranty) or you can send it out to a professional Diamond Blade Sharpening service (there are several of these services available online).

Tip: Don’t waste your time (and possibly damage the temper of) using a grinder to sharpen the diamond blade. Always send it out to a professional sharpener.
