Makita LXFD01CW 18V Compact Lithium Ion Cordless Drill/Driver Kit Review
The Makita LXFD01CW is a compact drill/driver with a built-in battery charger. It features a large button-top LCD display, which shows the current charge level and remaining capacity of the battery. It also allows you to change the drill bit size, from .20mm to 0.30mm.
The tool comes with a screwdriver tip and a driver tip. There are two different sizes of bits included: a #00 hex bit for drilling holes and countersinks, and a #1 hex bit for cutting through wood or plastic. The tool is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery (sold separately).
The tool includes a pair of interchangeable Phillips head screws. You can use them to hold the drill handle while you turn it on and off, or you can just leave them in place so they don’t interfere with your work. A small rubber feet keep the tool from sliding around when not in use. The tool comes with a built-in LED light, which illuminates the work area.
Using the Makita LXFD01CW is very easy. There are only two controls: an on/off button and a trigger. The on/off button sets the tool to power up in drilling or driving mode, so there’s no need to cycle through different speeds while you’re working. You can adjust the speed by pressing the trigger gently for delicate work or squeezing it gradually for more speed.
The tool is comfortable to hold, with an angled body and nonslip rubber over molding on both sides.
The Makita LXFD01CW provides up to 1,000 RPM and 260 in-lbs of torque. It’s a strong tool that lets you drill through hard materials without worrying about the battery dying before you finish.
The bit changes quickly and easily, with a simple push-button mechanism that lets you choose between bits. The battery charges in just 30 minutes, so you won’t get stuck waiting for a charge when you need to use the tool again.
The battery and charger are both distinct advantages of this cordless drill over comparable models from other manufacturers. This model also comes with 2 screwdriver tips, which gives you more versatility when working on different projects.
