Makita Cyclonic Vacuum Kit – What Is It?
The Makita cyclonic vacuums are made by Makita. They have been around since the early 1900’s. They were originally designed for farming purposes. Since then they have become popular among home users. The Makita cyclones are very effective at cleaning up dust and dirt from floors, walls, furniture, etc. They are relatively inexpensive compared to other brands of vacuums available today.
In fact the cyclonic vacuums are so good that many people use them every day without even realizing it!
Why Would You Need A Makita Cyclonic Vacuum Kit?
If you’re like most people, you probably don’t need a new vacuum cleaner every few months or year. But if you do need one, there are several reasons why you might want to get one of these cyclonic vacuums:
You have a small apartment with limited space and sometimes hard surfaces such as tile or carpet require some extra care. A small vacuum cleaner that can easily go underneath furniture and along walls can be quite helpful.
You have a large family. A single upright vacuum or even a canister vacuum may not be enough to keep up with all the dirt and dust your family kicks up.
You need a high quality tool for cleaning much like a professional would use.
When Should You NOT Use A Makita Cyclonic Vacuum?
So when should you NOT get a Makita vacuum cleaner? Well, if you have mostly bare floor, you probably don’t need a cyclonic vacuum. These vacuums are designed to work best on carpet. So unless you have a lot of carpet or rugs, you might want to pass on a makita.
Makita also makes another type of vacuum cleaner called a canister vacuum. These are much larger than the cyclonic ones which are actually just small canisters. They require an electrical outlet and are not meant for stairs. If you have mostly hard floor, then you should consider a canister model.
What Are Some Of The Different Makita Cyclonic Vacuum Attachments?
The different attachments that come with a makita are almost endless. You can get a combination floor tool, duster brush, crevice tool, upholstery nozzle, and more. You can also buy pre-made kits such as the following:
Kit #1: Hard Floor
This kit comes with a hard floor tool for furniture as well as bare floors. It also comes with a dusting brush and upholstery nozzle. This is perfect if you have mostly hard floors in your home.
Kit #2: Carpet
This kit comes with a carpet tool along with a dusting brush and upholstery nozzle. This is perfect if you have mostly carpeted floors in your home.
What Are Some Of The Different Makita 18v Vacuum Cleaners?
There are several cyclonic makita vacuums available today. In fact there are over a dozen different types of them ranging in size, power, and accessories.
There are a few standard types that are most common. These include:
There are also several different battery types that go with each one. However, for the most part the batteries are the same and only vary in mAh or Ah. The higher the mAh or Ah number, the longer the runtime per charge.
An upright vacuum is easily the most common type of vacuum cleaner. They are very easy to use and are great for carpeted floors and area rugs. If you have mostly hard floor, then an upright might not be the right choice for you. Uprights also tend to be a little bit heavier than the other types which can cause issues if you have weaker arms or hands.
The average price for an upright is around $200. Here are some of the Makita models in this category:
Makita XUB06001B – This model only comes with a bare floor tool. It does not have any brushes or other attachments. However, if you only need to clean bare floors then this is one of your cheapest options. The bare floor tool also works well on carpeted stairs.
Makita XUB24B – This model comes with a dusting brush, upholstery nozzle, and crevice tool. It does not have any other options for changing the brush or nozzle. This is a bare bones option that is good for people that don’t need anything else.
Makita XUB2701B – This model comes with almost all of the available tools except for a specialized tool for furniture. You get the bare floor tool, duster brush, dusting brush, upholstery nozzle, and crevice tool. This is a great general purpose vacuum for a low price.
Makita XUB37 – This is the top of the line upright vacuum from Makita. It comes with several different specialized tools for furniture, drapes, upholstery, and even car cleaning. While this model is extremely versatile, it is also the most expensive.
A canister vacuum is easily the most versatile option. You are able to seamlessly transition from hard floors to carpet with no issues at all. They are also much lighter than an upright making them easier to push and maneuver. The only real downside is that the canister models are usually more expensive than the other options by a few dollars.
The average price for a canister model is around $300. Here are some of the Makita models in this category:
Makita XCU03 – This is the bare bones canister option. It does not come with many tools. You only get the bare floor nozzle and hose. However, this is one of the cheaper options available.
Makita XCU03Z – This is another low cost option from Makita. The only difference between this and the bare bones model is that this comes with a combo tool that has a brush, dusting brush, and crevice tool.
Makita XCU02Z – This is the most basic model that still has a few options. You get the bare floor nozzle, hose, and a combo brush tool. The combo tool can be used for furniture, drapes, and stairs. It cannot be used for anything else though.
Makita XCU02 – This is the upgraded version of the model above. You get all of the same tools but the combo tool can be used on everything. The only thing that this model is missing is the powered hand tool that allows you to clean your car with it.
Makita XCU04 – This is the top of the line canister vacuum available from Makita. Not only do you get all of the tools, but this model also includes a powered hand tool that allows you to clean your car. It also comes with an extra large combo tool that has extra brushes for cleaning carpeted stairs.
Choose Your Accessories
It is also important to decide what tools and accessories you will need before you start shopping. Tools like nozzles and brushes all do the same thing, but in different ways. Decide what you need before you go so you don’t get anything that you won’t use.
You can find great deals online on used and refurbished tools as well. You may be able to get all of the same tools that you need at a fraction of the price.
Makita also makes a great line of vacuum bags and filters that can be purchased separately as well. There are many generic options available as well, however, these are not as high quality so they may need to be changed out more frequently.
