Makita 18V Cordless Rivet Tool: Two Tools with Different Power Levels

Makita Cordless Rivet Gun: Two Tools with Different Power Levels

The Makita cordless riving tool is one of the most popular types of tools used in construction industry. The corded riving tool has been around since the late 1960’s when it was introduced into the market. Today, there are many models available from different manufacturers. Some of these include; Makita, DeWalt, Stanley, Craftsman and others. There are two main types of cordless tools, those that use batteries and those that do not.

These are called power level and non-power level. Power Level tools have higher voltages than non-power level tools.

Power Level Tools:

There are several brands of power levels including; Makita, DeWalt, Stanley, Craftsman and others. All of them offer various voltage options ranging from 1/2 amp to 12 amps or more. They all work similarly. A small motor turns a gearbox which drives a long arm that squeezes out concrete or other materials. The arm is connected to a reel where the material is deposited onto another piece of plastic or metal.

The whole process takes place over and over again until the material is exhausted from the reel.

Non-Power Level Tools:

Some cordless tools such as screwdrivers and drills do not require any external power source at all to operate. These are called non-power tools. These do not have any gears and transmissions and are not as powerful as the other two types of tools. The only problem with these tools is that they can only last for a limited number of uses before they need to be recharged or replaced.

Cordless Rivet Tools:

There are many different models of cordless rivet tools available on the market. Some of these tools are very basic and only use a single battery. Other tools, such as those made by the Makita company, are more complex and must be plugged in to a power source. These tools have rechargeable batteries that are recharged when plugged into the power supply.

The most popular cordless rivet tool made by the Makita company is known as the Makita FR8000. There are other similar tools that have the same capabilities such as the DeWalt DWFP55130. These tools have long slender barrels that allow for deep penetration into materials and long lasting power. The newest model, the Makita FR1901 is available with an LED light that makes for clear visibility in poorly lit areas. The older models use long lasting, replaceable lithium-ion batteries.

To switch between operating modes, the tool can be switched from clockwise to counterclockwise rotation.

Makita cordless rivet tools are much lighter than corded rivet guns and don’t require hoses or cables to be snaked around the work area. The smaller size makes them perfect for working in tight areas. The single unit design is easy to handle and can be used in any position. It can also be stored more easily when not in use. This makes cordless tools very popular in many industries.
