There are three main types of screw heads: Phillips, flat, and pozidriv. The most popular one is the Philips head because it has a distinctive “+” sign on top of the screw head. But it’s not that easy to find a Philips head screw driver because there are so many different kinds and sizes of them. Flat head screw drivers are used for opening Nintendo consoles, so if you want to open one of those old workingGame Boys, then you might need to use this type of screw driver. You can also use it on other flat head screws. The only disadvantage is that it’s easy to slip and damage your screw driver if you don’t have a proper grip on the handle.
Pozidriv head screw drivers are uncommon nowadays, but some electronic devices still use this type of screw head. You can recognize a pozidriv screw by its cross shaped cut out. These are a bit hard to find, but it’s better to have one because they are less likely to slip compared to other types of screw drivers.
When choosing the right type of screwdriver for you, you need to consider what you want to use it for. That’s why I told you about each type of screwdriver and their pros and cons. Maybe you don’t need a lot of fancy tools because you only want to work on small objects.
