Kershaw Fraxion Folding Knife Review: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
The Kershaw Fraxion folding knife is one of the best knives made by Kershaws. It was designed with a purpose – to cut through tough materials such as leather and metal. It is not just another pocketknife. Its design is unique and it gives you the ability to do things other knives cannot. For example, you can use it to open boxes or bags without having to bend over.
You can even use it as a screwdriver when needed.
However, there are some drawbacks with the Kershaw Fraxion folding knife. First of all, its price tag is quite high (around $300). Secondly, the blade is very sharp and if used carelessly could cause severe damage to your skin. Thirdly, it does not come in many colors like most other Kershaws. Fourthly, it doesn’t have a sheath.
Finally, the knife is only available in black.
So what’s wrong with these flaws?
Well, let us take a look at them one by one…
THE GOOD: THE KNIFE IS VERY SHARP AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR SKIN IF USED CAREFULLY! IT DOESN’T COME IN ANY COLORS! THE FOURTH REASON IS THAT THE FRAXION DOESN’T COME WITH A SHEATH.
THE BAD: THE PRICE TAG IS VERY HIGH! ($300)
THE UGLY: THE FRAXION HAS A VERY UNATTRACTIVE BLACK COLOR
You have to understand that the Kershaw Fraxion is not a knife; it is a survival tool! If you plan on using it properly, then you have to extend your budget. The reason why the Fraxion costs so much money is because of its high-end materials and high-quality design.
The first thing that you will notice about the Fraxion is its weight. The knife is heavy duty and solid; it can hack through almost anything. Its stainless steel blade can easily break through a thick piece of wood or cut through a tin can like it is nothing at all.
Due to its superior quality, the blade does not get dull easily. You do not need to sharpen it every now and then. However, you still have to maintain the rest of the knife as well.
The Fraxion has a rubber handle so that you will have a firm grip on it even if your hands are wet or oily. This is very useful when you are working with wet wood or metal. The handle is also textured for a firm and comfortable grip.
