Fein MultiMaster 350 QSL Oscillating Tool Review
The Feins are a family owned business based out of New Jersey. They have been making radio equipment since the 1930’s. Their most popular product is their multi-tool which they call “the ultimate tool.” The company was founded by John Fein (1896–1985) and his wife Helen (1910–2002). John had a background in electrical engineering and manufacturing, while Helen was a schoolteacher.
John began working at Radio Shack when he was just 17 years old. He worked there until he left to start his own business. His first big success came with the development of the “F” key switch for radio receivers and amplifiers. After selling Radio Shack, John sold all his stock in the company and started his own company called Fein & Company in 1943. By 1946, the company had grown to over $1 million in sales.
In 1949, John and Helen decided to sell their company but continued to operate it from their home. During this time, John developed a new type of radio receiver known as the “multitool,” which allowed users to change channels without having to turn off or unplug any other parts of the radio. The tool was small and had a built-in handle, just like a hammer. This was the beginning of the Fein Multitool Company.
The company continued to grow and eventually moved into a larger facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It was renamed the John Z. Fein Company in honor of John Z. In 1972, after selling over 2 million tools in 35 different countries, the company changed their name to the Fein Company and became a public company.
John Z. Fein was a well-known and well-respected industrialist who is responsible for the widespread use of the first popular cordless tools. He received numerous awards for his inventions and business accomplishments. He was honored in 2008 by becoming part of the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame and the National Radio Hall of Fame.
One of their most popular tools is their oscillating tool, or multi-tool. It is described as “the ultimate tool” because it can be used for multiple purposes. It is a great tool for woodworking, cleaning grout from tile, sanding and more. It has a high number of positive reviews from both tradesmen and do-it-yourselfers.
These tools are very versatile and can be used for a wide range of jobs around the house, including:
Woodworking: You can use it for cutting wood, shaping wood or cutting joints. You can also use it for sanding and scraping.
Demolition: You can use it to cut drywall, plywood, fiberglass and more.
Gardening: These tools are great for cutting roots, weeding and digging.
Metal working: You can use the tool to cut bolts or other metal components.
How Does the Fein Oscillating Tool Work?
The tool uses high-speed, fine toothed blades to create a rapid back and forth motion. This allows the tool to be used for a wide range of jobs. It is held in one hand and gripped like a pencil. The other hand controls the tool by pushing and pulling a button that activates the oscillating feature. These tools don’t require any form of power, which is what makes them so popular.
There are three different types of blades that can be used with this type of tool: Standard, Demolition and Cutting-Flat. There are also specialized blades for more specific jobs like scraping and sanding. Most standard blades have a fine tooth point that can be used for general tasks. Blades are easy to switch out and can quickly be replaced when they get dull or broken.
Cordless vs. Corded
Cordless tools are very convenient because they allow you to take them to the work site and not have to worry about extension cords or finding a socket. However, cordless tools do have a few downsides that should be taken into consideration. The first is that they are dependent on batteries, which can sometimes make them heavier and decrease the runtime. They also can’t be used as long continuously without being recharged.
Corded tools don’t have the same limitations and are sometimes preferred for that reason. The cord can be a tripping hazard, but that can be resolved by using an extension cord or by simply placing the tool in the desired location and working around it.
Both cordless and corded oscillating tools have their advantages and disadvantages. It just depends on what you are going to use it for and your personal preferences as far as which is better.
An oscillating tool can be used for many different types of jobs, such as:

There are two types of oscillating tools: the corded and cordless. The corded type is plugged directly into a 120-volt outlet and does not require battery power. This type of oscillating tool is more powerful and can perform heavier duty tasks. The cordless type is battery powered and while not as strong as the corded type, this oscillating tool can still get the job done.
