The most popular type of boxes are the 72″ x 24″. These types of boxes have been around since the early days of home entertainment systems. They were originally designed to house a television or other large flat screen monitor and they still work well today.

However, with the advent of DVD players, Blu Ray players and HDTVs these old style box sets are becoming obsolete. Most people don’t even own one anymore!

What’s left?

What do you think of when you hear the word “box”? A box, right?

Well, it turns out that the term “Box Set” is actually used to refer to these kinds of units. The term comes from the fact that there are usually 12 discs inside each unit and they’re all connected together by a long cable.

So what does this mean exactly?

When you buy a 72″ x 24″ box set, you get 12 discs (or tapes) in your box. Each disc contains movies and TV shows. You might not need all of them, but if you want to watch something else on the list, you’ll probably need at least some of them.

If you’ve ever wondered why so many stores sell 72″ x 24″ boxes, then it’s because they’re selling those kind of units for less than $100! Yikes! The only other type of DVD box that resembles the “box-set” is the 45″ x 12″.

Some people might be confused by this term since they’re so used to hearing the term “box set”. In fact, it’s the same thing as a box set. It just happens to come in a smaller package or container.
