DICKIES WORKWEAR REVIEW
The first thing to note is that there are two different types of workwear: casual wear and formal wear. Casual clothing is worn at home or when going out to socialize. Formal attire is typically worn while working on a job site or performing other tasks related to your profession.
In general, workwear is made from materials such as cotton, wool, polyester and nylon. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Cotton works well because it’s lightweight but doesn’t absorb sweat like heavier fabrics do.
Wool is very warm and breathable so it keeps you dry even if you’re sweating profusely. Polyester is flexible yet durable enough to stand up to the rigors of hard labor without breaking down too much over time. Nylon is strong and resistant to abrasion, but it tends not to breathe as well as other fabrics.
There are many different brands of workwear available today. Some companies make only one type of clothing; others produce both casual and formal wear. There are also several styles of workwear available including suits, dress shirts, blazers, jackets and pantsuits.
You’ll see that some styles look similar but they may differ slightly depending on the brand name attached to them. Fortunately, most styles are adaptable. For example, you can wear a pair of work pants with a dress shirt and suit jacket for a more formal style of clothing.
Let’s look at some recommendations for different types of workwear:
Cotton Shirts: There are many different types of shirts made from cotton such as short sleeve, long sleeve, button-up and pull over. They are mostly suitable for warmer weather except for long sleeve shirts which can be worn year round. The most common colors are white, blue and gray although you can find them in a variety of colors.
Dress Shirts: There are four main types of dress shirts including business, casual, western and short sleeve. The main difference between each type is the style of collar and whether or not the shirt has buttons attached to the collar or not. Without the buttons, there are holes on each side for a tie to pass through.
The most common styles are the western and the business style. The casual style is made with a round collar while the business style normally has a pointed collar.
Jackets: You can find jackets made from cotton, wool and polyester. They are available in several lengths such as short, long and bermuda. The most popular styles for business environments are the single-breasted and double-breasted suits.
For casual wear, the most common style is the denim jacket.
Lab Coats: These are typically made from cotton or polyester and are worn by doctors, medical professionals and other people in the medical field. Most of them are light blue while some can be found in other colors such as white or pink. They button down the front and some have inside pockets.
Overalls: These come in two main styles including the bib overalls and the jumper overalls. They are normally made from denim or cotton and commonly used by farmers and other outdoor types. They fasten in the front or to the sides with straps.
Other work clothing includes coveralls, jumpsuits, mechanic’s uniforms and other specialty items such as beekeeping suits and even waterproof pants and raincoats for farmers and construction workers. You can also find camouflage clothing made from different materials such as cotton or light nylon. It’s mostly designed for hunters and others who need to stay hidden while hunting.
There are also many types of boots and shoes available for workers. The most common are ankle boots, which fasten with a zipper or laces. The uppers of these boots come up high on the leg and some have a protective cover over the toe.
For more rugged outdoor use, you can find work boots, cowboys boots, hiking boots, safety boots and even rubber boots. There are also different types of sandals for warmer weather although they normally not considered to be work wear.
For additional clothing options, you can find a wide assortment of headwear including caps, hats, hoods and helmets. Many of them are designed for specific uses such as dust masks and respirator masks. Winter hats and gloves can be found for colder weather.
Some workers may choose to wear heavy duty aprons or even welding blankets for added protection.
Most of the gear that workers wear today is designed to be comfortable, durable and safe. In addition, many of these items can be found in a wide range of styles and colors allowing each person to express their own personal tastes.
Most of the items found at the working person’s store are essential for workers in a wide range of industries. If you’re looking for something unique for that special hard-working person in your life, then you might find it at a working person’s store.
