The past few years have been very interesting times for the automotive industry. With the advent of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid cars, there are now two different types of vehicle manufacturers: those that make EV’s or hybrids, and those that make traditional gas powered cars. Both of these groups have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The first group is known as the “craftsmen” because they are trying to produce high quality products at low cost. They want to keep costs down so that they can sell their product at a lower price than their competitors. These companies include most car makers such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota and many others. These companies typically use either the 12 volt or 24 volt power source for their vehicles.

The second group is known as the “manufacturers”. These companies are trying to maximize profits by using both types of power sources. For example, one company might use a 24 volt battery pack and another company uses a 12 volt battery pack. This type of manufacturing method allows them to manufacture their vehicles with higher quality parts at lower prices.

Manufacturers include General Motors, Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen and many others.

In order to make a decision between these two different manufacturing groups, we need to examine each group in more detail:

The Craftsman: The craftsmen manufacturers use the 12V battery pack. This is the same battery pack that has been used for decades in most cars. The primary advantage of this type of power system is that it is cheap to manufacture and maintain. As the old saying goes, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!” This system is so effective, that it has been used on millions of cars for more than a century.

Although the craftsman manufacturers have stuck with this tried and true power system, they have not been able to keep up with the manufacturers in terms of providing better technology and safety features in their vehicles. As a result, these vehicle manufacturers have fallen way behind in safety features such as anti-lock brakes, traction control and other driver safety systems. The craftsman manufacturers also have lagged behind in providing better fuel economy and cleaner emissions without sacrificing performance.

The Manufacturer: The manufacturer’s use 24V battery packs for their vehicles. This type of power system has been used for decades in heavy duty trucks, trains and other industrial purposes. The main advantage to this power system is the large amount of power it can provide to the electric motors. This gives the manufacturers a significant advantage in providing faster acceleration, greater pulling power and better performance on steep inclines.

The disadvantage to this system is that it requires more wiring, larger battery packs and an expensive charging systems. As a result, these vehicles are typically more expensive to manufacture and maintain.

The manufacturer’s also use the 12V battery pack in their smaller vehicles such as commuter cars and small trucks. This provides them with the advantage of being able to manufacture these vehicles at a lower cost and provide the consumer with cheaper prices.

In order for this power system to be truly effective, the manufacturers also have to use 24V auxiliary systems in their vehicles. This is primarily used in starter motors, window lifts, door locks, power seats, power windows and other power accessories that most people take for granted.
