The DeWalt DWV012 HEPA dust extractor is a high efficiency dust extraction unit designed for use with household or commercial vacuum cleaners. It provides superior filtration performance over other models on the market, while maintaining low operating costs and minimal maintenance requirements.
The unit comes equipped with a patented, proprietary design that uses two separate filters to trap particles in the air before they enter your home’s ventilation system.
The DWV012 features a large, easy-to-use rotary knob that allows users to adjust the amount of time it takes for the unit to cycle through its three settings: Low, Medium and High. Users can choose between a standard, one-way filter and an automatic dual-flow option.
The unit is powered by a 12 volt DC power supply (included) which powers the dust collector motor and controls the dust collection nozzle. A built-in rechargeable battery pack provides up to 5 hours of continuous operation.
Features & Benefits
High Efficiency Filter System – The DWV012 utilizes a unique two-stage filtration system that traps dust particles at different levels in the air. When activated, the first stage separates out fine dust particles from larger ones.
The second stage then captures any remaining debris, such as dirt and hair clippings. This combination of filters effectively removes 99% of all airborne contaminants. After extended use, the filters must be replaced according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Rugged Outer Shell – The durable polypropylene plastic outer shell of the dust collector is designed to resist impact and is resistant to chemicals, extreme heat and freezing temperatures. The exterior also resists abrasions and UV damage from direct sunlight.
The shell has a wide stance base with an integrated handle for easy transport from one job site to another.
Filter Status Indicators – The dust collector comes with two filters that can be installed or removed depending on the size of debris you are processing. Each filter is fitted with a color-coded ring that indicates when it needs to be replaced.
Green signifies that the filter is in good condition while yellow indicates that the filter should be replaced within the next 15 minutes of use. Red indicates that the filter must be replaced immediately.
Filtration Efficiency Gauge – A simple glance at the front of the unit is all you need to know how well the dust collector’s filters are working. A built-in gauge displays a numerical value from 0-99 indicating the percentage of airborne particles the filter has trapped.
When it reaches 100%, it is time to replace the filters.
Three Operating Modes – The DWV012 features three operating modes to best suit your filtration needs. The first mode is the HIGH setting which is used for general filtration and clean up jobs.
The second mode, MEDIUM, is best for use with drywall operations and demolition work. The last operating mode, LOW, is best suited for continuous filtration of particles at a constant rate over long periods of time.
Dual Battery System – An integrated, rechargeable battery pack provides up to 5 hours of run time on a single charge. The unit can also be plugged into an AC outlet for continuous operation.
Rotary Knob Controls – A large rotary knob is located on the front of the dust collector for easy access and simple control over the operation of the unit. A line of green LEDs counts up from 0 to 9 to indicate the selected mode of operation.
Warranty – This product includes a 90 day manufacturer’s warranty.
