DeWalt DW735x vs.

DW735: What’s the difference?

DeWalt is a very popular brand. They have many different products in their product lines and even more items in each product line. If you are completely new to DeWalt’s tools, then it might be difficult for you to choose which one is best for you. Obviously, you will go for the ones with more features. But at the same time, it is also very important to choose a product that suits your level of experience in woodworking or carpentry. A very good way to find the right one is by looking at the differences between them.

What are the main differences between DeWalt DW735 and DeWalt DW735x?

The greatest difference between these two products is that the DeWalt DW735x comes with a 3-year warranty, while the regular version provides 2 years of protection. While this sounds like a great deal, it isn’t such a big difference. It’s only one more year and the price you have to pay for it is quite high. A better idea would be to buy an aftermarket warranty which lasts three more years, so you’re actually getting 6 years of coverage altogether. The other differences between DeWalt DW735 vs. DW735x are very minor. The blades are exactly the same, the motors are exactly the same, and even their designs are almost identical! The only (and I mean only) difference between these two wood planers is the design of their hand grips.

What is the design difference between the two?

This might sound strange to some of you, but it is a very important difference.

Why?

The answer is very simple. The shape of the hand grip can help you determine which one of these tools is more comfortable to use.

Why is this so important?

Well, because no matter how many features a product has, if you aren’t comfortable using it, then it isn’t worth much. However, since there really isn’t much difference between the two models, it probably won’t make a big difference for most people.

Verdict: Which one should you choose?

First and foremost, you need to consider which one is better for your level of experience. If you are a professional or an enthusiastic do-it-yourselfer, then you should go for the more expensive model since it can provide much more durability and has a longer warranty period. On the other hand, if you are a beginner, then you should probably stick with the regular 735 due to its lower price.

No matter which one of these products you choose, you can be sure that you are getting a high-quality wood planer which will help you save a lot of time and effort. After all, this is the main purpose of this tool, isn’t it?
