What you can expect from a cordless circular saw?
There are always certain things that you can expect from any cordless saw. We will go over some important features so that you know what to look for when buying your own.
Featuring: 4 Stroke engine The saw’s engine is a 4-Stroke engine. This type of engine is very powerful and requires less maintenance than your traditional 2-stroke saws. The 4-Stroke uses the traditional gas and oil mixture to produce it’s power but burns it more efficiently and cleaner than the 2-stroke.
It does have a little bit of a kick but if treated well, can last a while.
Featuring: Quick release blade One of the best features in my opinion, is the quick release blade clamp. This makes it very convenient when it comes time to change or remove the blade. You can do it with just one hand and in a matter of seconds.
It also locks the blade in very securely so there is no need to worry about an accident caused by an insecure blade.
Featuring: 15 AMP Motor The 15 AMP motor provides enough power to efficiently cut through hard woods and metals. This type of motor requires more power from the battery but is definitely worth it because of the raw power it can provide. It is also much more durable and can handle a wide range of materials without wearing down.
Featuring: Two Batteries This saw comes with 2 batteries. The batteries are what provide the power to the saw. This type of saw will always require a battery because it is a cordless tool and does not have any cords to plug into a wall or extension.
Each battery can provide enough power for a few hours of work. Always bring an extra fully charged battery with you just in case though, you never know when an extra boost of power will come in handy.
What’s in the box
When you bring your new saw home and open it up, these are the contents that you can expect to see. There may be some minor differences depending on which type of kit you purchased. The kit includes the following:
Battery Charger One fully charged battery Blade wrench Dust bag Material cutting guide Bar oil Instruction manual
Tips & Warnings
Make sure you charge the battery before use. After a full charge, the battery should last long enough for you to complete your project. Make sure you read the instruction manual before doing any major project.
This tool can be very dangerous if you do not know how to use it properly or safely. Wear proper eye protection always!
Always wear ear protection. Woodworking can be very tiring and a good pair of noise cancelling earmuffs or earplugs can really make a difference in your overall comfort and safety.
Wear proper clothing. Even though this is an electric saw and it cuts much easier than a traditional handsaw, it can still cause serious cuts and scrapes if you are not careful. Long pants, sleeves, and closed toe shoes are always a good choice when working with any power tool.
Hopefully these tips will help you get the most out of your new tool and help you have a safe and fun woodworking experience.
