Bosch PS31-2A 12V Lithium-Ion 3/8″ Drill Driver Review
The Bosch PS31-2A lithium ion drill drivers are designed for professional use in the oil and gas industry. They are reliable, compact, durable and easy to operate. These drills have a maximum output of 10,000 rpm with a torque rating of 1,200 Nm (1.2 kgf·m) and a life expectancy of 50,000 hours.
These drills are available in three models: PS31-3A, PS31-4A and PS31-5A. Each model comes with two batteries; one for the motor and one for the charger unit. The motors are capable of delivering up to 20 amps continuous power while producing 0.9 hp each at full speed.
The batteries are rechargeable, but not replaceable.
In addition to the standard features such as a stop button, a digital readout display and a rotary encoder control knob, the PS31-2A includes additional features including an auto shutoff feature and an emergency stop function. If either of these functions are activated within five minutes of turning on the drill, they will automatically turn off the drill after 5 minutes.
There are two types of batteries: one for the drill and one for the charger. When recharging, only the battery for the charger should be placed in the charger unit. When using, both batteries should be placed in their respective battery docks on the drill.
The battery docks ensure that each battery is at peak performance when needed. Over a period of time, the batteries will lose their ability to hold a charge. In this instance, the batteries should be replaced with new ones.
The batteries for these drills are expensive and should be charged carefully. The charger unit has two lights that indicate the status of the battery. A green light indicates that the battery is at a safe operational level while a red light indicates that the recharge is needed immediately.
The batteries can be left in the charger when not in use for an extended period of time. However, regular use of the drill will ensure that the battery remains at an optimal power level.
The drills are extremely durable and can be used to drill holes in concrete, brick and stone. They can also be used to drive screws into wood, plastic and metal. The powerful brushless motor and built-in clutch can handle any task that is asked of it.
The drills are also lightweight and compact making them easy to handle for extended periods of time. The controls are designed to fit the hand comfortably which allows users to work for longer periods of time without any fatigue.
The drill’s handle is designed to allow hands of all sizes to fit on it comfortably and with ease. It provides enough grip to prevent the drill from slipping, but does not provide too much grip that it becomes uncomfortable to use. The controls are within reach of the fingers and allow for easy access.
The trigger can be held down without any discomfort.
The drill is designed with a single sleeve type handle that can be held in one or both hands. The handle can be positioned at two different heights by the front and rear collar keys. Most users find that the lower setting of 8.25 inches provides them with the best control over the drill; while others find that the higher setting of 10.5 inches provides them with better visibility while working.
