This table saw offers a lot of power for its size and weight. The motor is more than capable of cutting through any type of material with ease.

You also do not have to worry about the saw becoming bogged down while you are working. There is virtually no lag.

The GTS1031 also comes with everything you need for basic woodworking. The only thing you will need to buy separately is a set of blades.

The table saw also comes with a nice, sturdy rolling stand that makes transporting it from one location to another a lot easier.

Like with most table saws, this one does come with a blade guard for your safety. It is always best to use this guard whenever you can.

While the guard can be a little bit of a pain when it comes to making really fine cuts, it isn’t a deal breaker by any means.

Cons:

While the GTS1031 comes with a nice rolling stand, it is made out of plastic and prone to breaking if not handled with care. You have to be especially careful when setting up and breaking down the saw.

Over time plastic parts do tend to get looser as well, so you will need to keep an eye on them.

There have been some reports of the stock blade not being that great quality. It may be wise to upgrade to a better quality blade as soon as possible.

The saw itself can also be a little bit difficult to transport if you need to move it over long distances. While it has a nice stand, the overall size of it can make it a little unwieldy to move around.

If you do need to transport it over long distances, you may want have a friend help you.

Comparison To Other Table Saws

The best thing about the GTS1031 is that it is very versatile. It’s not too big and not too small.

If you want more portability and are willing to sacrifice some features and power, you can go with the GTS1030. The GTS1030 is almost identical to the GTS1031, but it comes with a smaller mounting plate. It also doesn’t have quite as much power as the GTS1031, but it is still powerful enough for most jobs. The GTS1030 is also a bit lighter.

If you want more power and slightly less portability, you can go with the GTS1029. The GTS1029 is bigger, heavier and more expensive than the other two models.

While it does have more power, it isn’t that much more powerful than the GTS1030. You are essentially paying extra for a little bit more durability and size.

Who This Table Saw Is For

All things considered, the GTS1031 is a great table saw for anybody who doesn’t need to take their saw up and down stairs on a regular basis. While it can be a little bit difficult to transport due to its size and weight, most people will be using this saw at a (relatively) fixed location.

It also comes with everything you need to get started with the exception of blades.

People who do a lot woodworking as a hobby may want to consider the GTS1030. It is a little bit cheaper and more compact, so it is easier to transport from place to place.

The GTS1030 is also perfect for people on a tight budget because you can get by with the cheaper stock blade that comes with it. Just keep in mind that the saw is only as good as its blade.

People who are going to be using their table saw for professional purposes may want to spend a little more money for the GTS1029. The added durability of it may be worth the extra money depending on how you plan on using the saw.

The GTS1029 is similar in size and weight to the GTS1031, so moving it around shouldn’t be a problem for people with some experience.
