What users are saying:
My first miter saw was a cheap one from [a big box store] that was just all around pretty terrible. I replaced it with a second one from the same place and it was better, but the quality still wasn’t there. I did some research and found that many people recommended the Bosch GK-GCT12S. I went to [a large home improvement store] to see one in person since I hadn’t heard of the brand before, and picked one up. I am very glad I did!
This is an excellent saw. The build quality is much better, it’s lighter yet still very durable, the detents make it much easier to switch between angles, and the integrated clamp is very convenient. It isn’t too expensive either. All in all I am very happy with this miter saw.
This is a quality tool. I have only used a miter saw a few times in the past when my table saw wasn’t large enough or I needed really accurate cuts. This thing is solid. Very well made and the adjustments are precise. It also has plenty of power.
I really like that the guard is metal as I had one on a previous cheapo that was plastic and would always fall off. This one stays in place and does its job. The saw is pretty easy to adjust and I like the way the handle folds down for storage or transport. The dust collection works well with my shop vac hooked up. I haven’t used the laser at all and probably won’t. Just another thing to waste battery life or need batteries replaced. If you are looking for a quality miter saw for both precision and heavy duty use look no further.
This is a great saw. Cuts very smoothly, easily adjustable, and well balanced. I’ve seen other reviews that talk about the durability of this saw. I own this saw, a Rigid miter saw and a cheap Black and Decker miter saw. While I do own the RIDGID and the B&D for a few years (both of them have been heavily used in remodeling 2 houses) I would bet that my Bosch is the most used out of all of them.
It has been dropped from 8ft several times and it keeps on going. I think some of the people leaving reviews about it being broke after a few months of use don’t understand you need to take care of your power tools. If you take care of them, then they will last you a lifetime.
And for $100 less than the RIDGID counterpart, it’s a no-brainer.
This is a fantastic saw. I looked at all the major brands and settled on this one as the best one for me. I looked at the Ridgid, but for the price the bosch just seemed to have more to offer. The major selling point for me was the material both sides where the blade goes. They are made completely out of metal (unlike the ridgid) so if you drop it its less likely to get dinged up.
It also has great clamp, and the detents for common angles are very easy to fine tune with a small flathead screwdriver.
I have no regrets on this purchase.
I had the previous version of this saw and it was an amazing tool. It lasted through years of construction work and still runs today, although I eventually upgraded to the magnesium body model. The only thing that I would change is making the stock detent a little more accurate.
I love this saw. I had borrowed one from a friend for the last year and finally bought one of my own when my rental house needed some trim and casing replaced. I had originally planned to buy another brand, but my buddy offered me a great deal on this saw so I went with it. (Thanks again Garret!) It is very light and very powerful.
It is extremely smooth through a wide range of cut options. With blades that fit this saw, it will cut through framing lumber like butter. The “Magnesium” body is the cats meow too. It is basically the same construction as the new style iPhone. Its light and durable. I know this thing will probably outlast me. It comes with a nice bag and battery. If you are a professional, or even a serious-hobbyist, this is a must have in your arsenal.
I’ve been using this for a couple months and I love it. The magnesium compound body is very nice, feels like quality. It is fairly light weight, but seems super durable. Bevel adjusts smoothly with detents at important angles (22.5, 45, etc.) Rip fence is actually very accurate for a tool of this price and category.
Miter scale is easy to read and accurate. Laser, as others have said, is extremely handy for long cuts.
