Bosch 11264EVS 1-5/8″ SDS-Max Combination Hammer Review

Bosch 11264EVS 1-5/8″ SDS-Max Combination Hammer Review: What’s it all About?

The Bosch 11264EVS 1-5/8″ SDS-Max Combination Hammer is a high performance sander with a large cutting capacity. Its main advantage over other sander models is its ability to cut through thick material without damaging the surface. It features a powerful motor which allows it to easily handle rough materials such as concrete or brick. You can use it to remove small pieces of wood, plastic, metal and many other types of materials.

How Does It Work?

It uses a rotating drum head that rotates at up to 3200 RPM (RPM = revolutions per minute). When the motor spins faster than the speed of sound, the air pressure inside increases rapidly causing the drum head to rotate faster. This causes the cutting blade to move forward and cut through the material.

What Are Its Features?

Its main feature is its ability to cut through thick materials without damaging the surface. It comes with a large cutting capacity of 5.4 cu ft (1L) and can work on hard surfaces such as concrete, brick, marble, stone or even glass. It also has a wide range of attachments that allow you to customize your sander for different jobs. It’s main accessories are a 1.5-inch edge sanding pad, abrasive hole saws, a 1.25-inch multi-sander, a 1.5-inch sanding band and a dust removal attachment.

What Type of Sandpaper Does It Use?

The sander uses Bosch’s MicroGrit sandpaper, which is an ultra-fine grit that is up to 50% finer than other types of sandpaper. This allows you to get a smoother finish, as well as making it easier to sand curved or irregular shaped objects.

How Is It Powered?

It’s a pneumatic tool which means that it uses compressed air to run. Compressed air can be stored in tanks that you have to drag around with you, or in this case it’s stored inside a tank that is built into the sander. The tank holds 2.3 gallons of air and provides constant power to the tool for up to two hours.

What’s Great About It?

The main advantages of this tool are its performance and build quality. It can easily handle the toughest jobs and will keep working even when other tools fail. The drum head can rotate at up to 3200 RPM which means it can cut through large pieces of material quickly. The only maintenance it requires is to keep the sandpaper clean and the tank full of air.

What Isn’t So Great?

The main disadvantage with this tool is the price. At nearly $700 it’s the most expensive tool in the Bosch line up and twice the price of the next most expensive sander. However if you are doing a lot of heavy duty sanding work, it’s well worth for the build quality and performance advantage it has over other sanders.

Who Is This Model For?

This sander is for anyone who does heavy duty sanding work on a regular basis. It’s ideal for contractors or construction workers who need to do a lot of sanding on a daily basis, but this tool will also come in handy for anyone who needs to do small DIY jobs from time to time. Even if you only need to do light sanding work, it will save you a lot of time and effort so it will still prove to be a worthwhile investment.

Bosch 1936vfs 5.4-amp Orbital Jigsaw, 2.3-amp Plunge

This is a very powerful and reliable jigsaw that is just as good at cutting through hard materials as it is soft ones. It has plenty of power to cut through metal pipes and thick wood planks and it also has an easy to replace blade system. It also comes with a number of great accessories that allow you to cut in tight spaces.

This jigsaw has an orbital action which helps to reduce the amount of friction that forms when you make a cut. This reduces heat build up and also improves the lifespan of the blade and the motor. The main cutting head can be adjusted from 0 to 45 degrees which allows you to cut materials at any angle.

It also has a pivoting base which makes it easier to cut in tight corners.

The blade on this tool can be changed without the use of any tools and it has an easy lock system that holds it in place. When cutting wood and soft materials the blade can be reversed to provide a flush cut.

At just over 10 pounds the jigsaw is fairly light and well balanced which helps to reduce user fatigue. The soft grip handle also provides extra comfort and reduces hand strain.
