Best Gas String Trimmer for Pros and Property Owners: Makita Em2650LH Manual
Makita Em2650LH Manual is a popular model among pros and property owners. Makita em2650lh manual is one of the most affordable models available. Its price range from $499 to $699 depending on the trim level. The makita em2650lh manual comes with a 1 year warranty. You may buy it online or at your local store.
The Makita em2650lh manual is a reliable machine that will cut through tough wood like birch, maple, oak and many other hardwoods. It’s compact size makes it easy to transport and use anywhere. It features a powerful motor that produces strong cuts with minimal effort. The blade is made of high quality stainless steel and has a sharp edge that won’t dull over time. The 5.0Ah battery can cut at full power for up to 70 minutes which means you can spend all day in the field.
The 2 year warranty is an added bonus. If you find yourself needing a replacement you can rest assured that it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
The Good
The makita em2650lh manual is great for people with small to medium sized properties (0.5 acres). It doesn’t have the power to cut through really thick brush on a daily basis. One great thing about the makita em2650lh manual is that you can use it for more than just trimming grass and weeds. It also works well for clearing out paths through your garden, cutting wood for a campfire and a variety of other things.
It’s easy to switch from one task to another and it’s light enough to carry around with you as you work.
The Bad
We’ve found that the makita em2650lh manual isn’t powerful enough to cut through thick and wet grass. This could be due to the 5.0Ah battery or perhaps the blade isn’t sharp enough. Either way, this model doesn’t perform as well in these situations. A similar model by echo, the SRE ,can power through tall and wet grass without any problems.
Another thing to keep in mind is the price. The makita em2650lh manual can be quite expensive at retail price. If you’re on a tight budget, you may want to consider other options.

3: GreenWorks Pro GL80302 String Trimmer Review
The Greenworks Pro is our budget pick for the best gas string trimmer. It’s well designed, powerful and can cut through thick bushes and tall grass with ease. It only weighs 7.5 pounds which makes it comfortable to use for extended periods of time. It’s a great choice if you want the power of a gas powered trimmer without the hassle of mixing fuel and oil.
The Greenworks Pro comes with a 2 year consumer warranty.
Who Is This Model For?
The Greenworks Pro is ideal for people who have large yards (1/4 acre or more). It’s also a good choice for people who would like to try out a gas powered string trimmer without making a large initial investment. If you only have a small yard (under 1/4 acre) and don’t plan on using your string trimmer very often, you would be better off going with the Sun Joe SJ602E as it’s much cheaper to buy and maintain.
What We Like
The Greenworks Pro is lightweight and ergonomic. It feels good in your hands and makes trimming the edges of your lawn a breeze. It comes with a 13 inch cutting swath which eliminates the need to make multiple passes. The 13 amp high-torque motor provides more than enough power to get through even the thickest grass.
What We Don’t Like
The 13 inch cutting swath can be a bit too wide for some applications. If you need to do precision trimming in your yard, you may want to look at one of the other models we have reviewed. Also, the Greenworks Pro is a little louder than some of the other models on our list.

What Owners Say
I have owned several gas trimmers over the years and I must say that the GreenWorks Pro is one of the best. It’s very powerful. The trimmer string advances very easily and doesn’t get bound up like some of my other machines did. All in all, it’s a great machine and I would highly recommend it.
I have a large yard and this machine makes my yard work so much easier. It’s easy to start and is fairly lightweight compared to some of the other machines I have used in the past. My only complaint is that the motor gets a bit hot sometimes after extended use, but I just allow it to cool down for about 15 minutes and then I’m good to go.
There was one time when I accidentally ran over the power cord with the string trimmer and it cut the cord in half. I contacted Greenworks to see about getting a new cord and they sent me one for free! That’s great customer service in my book.
What Is It Made Of?
The Greenworks Pro is made mostly out of hard plastic that is both lightweight and durable.
Greenworks Pro GL80302 Tips From Real Customers
Don’t forget to wear safety goggles!
Make sure you use the correct type of oil in your machine. Your owner’s manual will let you know which type to use.
Use the correct safety equipment while operating this machine such as safety goggles.

Operate the trimmer away from any bodies of water as they can be attracted to the noise and you don’t want to accidentally fall in.
Need to Take a Break?
When you’re done trimming your lawn, you may want to consider blowing off any excess grass that is still stuck in the cutting string before putting the trimmer away. If you don’t do this it could dry out and be very hard to remove the next time you use the machine. You can also blow excess grass out with an air compressor if you have access to one.
Best Choice Products Electric String Trimmer Edger mini-Mower
The Best Choice Products Electric Model resembles the Greenworks Pro we reviewed earlier, but at a much cheaper price. It only comes with a 2 year warranty which is pretty short compared to the other models we’ve looked at, but this may be a good option if you are on a very tight budget. Keep in mind that it only comes with a 90 day return policy so you will need to be certain that this is the model you want before purchasing.
What We Like
While it is not as powerful as some of the other models we reviewed, it can still tackle most of the jobs around the average yard. The adjustable cutting head allows you to easily alter the width of the cutting area making it easy to go from trimming grass to edging sidewalks.
What Concerns Us
While it comes with an adjustable handle to help prevent back issues, it is still a heavy machine and can cause some strain on your arms if used for extended periods. For most people this isn’t going to be an issue, but if you have any upper body weakness you may want to consider another model.
The Verdict
This is a pretty good value for the money. While it doesn’t have as many features as more expensive models, it is still a very capable machine that should serve most homeowners pretty well.
What Comes With It

The Best Choice trimmer comes with the string trimmer, a 2.5 amp battery, an adjustable handle, a charger, a shoulder strap, a bottle of line fluid, a 0.098 in x 4.5 in cutting head, bump feed, two spools and an instruction manual.
What Are Owners Saying?
While it doesn’t have as many reviews as some of the other models we have looked at, the ones it does have are fairly positive with most people saying that it works well and has held up to extended use. One complaint that a few people do seem to have is that it vibrates more than they expected it to, but again this isn’t a problem for most people.
So What’s The Final Verdict?
If you are looking for a low priced string trimmer that should work well for the average homeowner with minimal issues this is probably a good choice. While it doesn’t have all the features of some of the more expensive models it still works well and gets the job done.
Greenworks PRO LI 40 CC String Trimmer
The Greenworks PRO LI is another model in Greenworks’ line of lightweight string trimmers. It comes with a powerful 40V battery that is capable of running the trimmer for up to 60 minutes on a single charge. It is also very lightweight weighing only 7.7 lb which reduces operator fatigue. Keep in mind though that it doesn’t come with an edger, so you will need to get one of those if you want to use it for trimming the edge of your sidewalk or driveway.
What We Like
We really like the lightweight design of this machine. It only weighs 7.7 lb, which is about half the weight of most other models making it much easier to use for extended periods of time.
What Concerns Us
While it comes with a battery and charger we feel that this model is overpriced compared to some of the other models we have looked at. This may be a bit too expensive for many people’s budgets.
The Verdict
If you don’t mind the price, we recommend the Greenworks PRO LI 40 CC String Trimmer. It comes with a powerful battery that lasts for about an hour and it’s light weight design makes it much less tiring to use.
Best String Trimmer – Runner Up
The Ryobi RHT 8020 is a powerful trimmer that comes with a 55V battery and charger that can run the trimmer for up to an hour on a single charge. It also features a quick release system that allows you to quickly change out the head for different applications such as cutting tall grass or weeds.
What We Like
This is a very powerful cordless string trimmer. The engine delivers 7.0 amp of power and it comes with a battery that will allow you to run the trimmer for up to an hour on a single charge. It’s also very easy to switch out the cutting head for other tools.
What We Don’t Like

The biggest complaints that we found online are that the battery loses its charge fairly quickly when not in use and that it doesn’t work for more than 45 minutes even when it’s plugged into an electrical outlet. Some people also complained that it was too heavy.
The Final Verdict
If you want a cordless string trimmer that is easy to use and powerful, we recommend the Ryobi RHT 8020. As long as you don’t mind charging the battery every month or so and don’t plan on running it for more than 45 minutes at a time this is a great choice.
