TechCrete 2500 is a water resistant concrete waterproofing agent developed by Alchemco Corporation. It was first used in the construction industry during the 1970’s and 1980’s. It is still widely used today, especially in building projects such as parking lots, shopping malls, stadiums and other large structures where it helps to protect buildings from rainwater infiltration into underground spaces.
Alchemco Technology Crete 2500 is a high performance waterproofing agent with excellent resistance to corrosion, cracking and weather conditions. It provides good protection against wind, snow and ice penetration and does not require additional coatings or sealants. Its low viscosity makes it easy to apply, but allows for sufficient time for curing before any significant deterioration occurs.
The product has been designed to meet the needs of both new construction and retrofit applications. It is suitable for use in wet locations (such as basements) and dry locations (such as driveways). It can be applied using either hand or machine equipment.
It can be used to replace up to three layers of conventional waterproofing agents, including: silicone, polyurethane foam, polyisocyanurate and epoxy.
The product is available in two formulations; TechCrete 2000 and TechCrete 3000. The TechCrete 2000 is a 3 to 1 mix of water to catalyst by volume, and requires only one coat. The TechCrete 3000 is a 10 to 1 mix of water to catalyst by volume, and requires two coats.
Both formulations are designed for use in interior and exterior concrete waterproofing projects. They can be applied using either conventional or air-entrained concrete, although the use of air-entrained concrete will improve the finished appearance and may decrease drying time.
Alchemco TechCrete is a high quality, cost-effective product that will deliver excellent results on every waterproofing job.
The History of Techcrete
TechCrete was first developed in the late 1960’s by Alchemco as an alternative to less reliable and more expensive waterproofing agents. It was first used in the construction of parking garages, and was so successful that it quickly became a de-facto industry standard.
While other waterproofing agents rely on either the use of toxic gases or the injection of foams during the curing process, TechCrete uses a 100 percent eco-friendly chemical reaction to harden the concrete while allowing it to breathe. Since it doesn’t rely on an additive to cure, it can be cleaned up immediately with just water. Compared to less effective and more expensive alternatives such as polyurethane and silicone, TechCrete is easy to apply, cost-effective and safe.
How TechCrete Works
TechCrete works by using a chemical process to harden the concrete without adding anything that would change its properties. During the mixing process, the liquid activates the ingredients to create a powerful, permanent bond between the water and the concrete.
When the mixed TechCrete is exposed to air, the chemical process begins to take place, and it starts to turn from a liquid state to a solid. During this time, it will react with the water inside the concrete and form a strong bond that makes the surface impermeable–this is what causes the big bubbles of air that appear during the drying process.
Once the concrete has fully “set,” the bubbles will disappear, and the process is complete.
While some companies use foams or toxic gases to achieve the desired effect, TechCrete is eco-friendly, water-based and safe for workers and the environment. It can be cleaned up immediately with just water, and unlike other alternatives, does not require any measures beyond normal safety to protect workers.
Unlike some of the more expensive waterproofing agents on the market, TechCrete is very cost-effective. It can be applied to either fresh or hardened concrete, and requires only one coat for the best results.
There are several applications for TechCrete, including:
Concrete Foundation Waterproofing
While most people associate waterproofing with roofs, a properly waterproofed foundation is just as important. Over time, soil absorbs water naturally, which can lead to damp basements or crawl spaces if not addressed. A simple solution is to apply TechCrete to the foundation before building the house, and this will make sure that damp soil can’t cause any problems in the future.
Even a small crack in a concrete foundation, basement wall or floor can allow water to get in, which can cause all sorts of problems and lead to costly repairs down the road. TechCrete can be used to fill the cracks and seal them up, stopping water from getting inside.
While most people think of waterproofing as something that is applied to the ground, it can also be used on roofs to keep rainwater from penetrating the surface. Since leaks in the roof are a common cause of expensive water damage, any measures that can be taken to prevent them are well worth the cost.
For best results, TechCrete should be applied before the roof is built. It can also be applied to an existing roof, although the surface will need to be cleaned thoroughly before application.
Since water and boats don’t mix, a waterproof coating is essential for any vessel that spends any amount of time on the water. TechCrete can be painted onto the inside of the hull to keep out water, ensuring the vessel stays afloat and keeping everyone on board safe.
In addition to offering a number of practical benefits, TechCrete also has a positive impact on the environment. It is completely eco-friendly, contains no volatile chemicals and can be disposed of safely and without worries.
If you’re looking for a more environmentally friendly option than the standard waterproofing chemicals on the market, TechCrete is an excellent choice.

There are several different methods that can be used to waterproof a foundation, which include:
Tightly Packed Gravel: This is the most basic method for keeping water from seeping into a basement or crawl space. It involves filling the area around the foundation with gravel, then pouring a thick layer of concrete over it. While effective, this method can be difficult and expensive to implement in areas where the soil isn’t loose enough to pack down around the foundation.
Drainage Wells: In areas that often experience flooding or other types of water damage, drainage wells can be an effective solution. A company called Drano manufactures a product called the Aqua-Well that can be installed by digging a hole around the foundation, filling it with gravel, then screwing the well into the bottom of it. This creates an underground tunnel that allows water to drain away from the house.
Water Proofing Membranes: While not as common today as they once were, waterproofing membranes are still an option for homeowners who want to protect their house from water damage. The membrane is installed around the foundation before any walls go up, then it is sealed with a product called “mud-crawl”. The membrane itself is made of rubber or a similar material and comes in rolls that are typically 16 or 24 inches wide.
Chemical Soaking: This method involves pouring a solution of water and chemicals (such as copper sulphate) around the foundation of the house in order to prevent water from seeping into the soil. This method is not as effective as using a membrane, but it can be useful in areas where the ground is too hard to allow for drilling.
Why You Should Consider Paramount for Your Waterproofing Needs
If you’re like most homeowners, you probably don’t have the time or expertise to waterproof your own foundation. At the same time, you don’t want to hire just any contractor to do the job. Most of the companies you find online or in the phone book are going to be little more than incompetent amateurs, and it’s important to remember that your home and family are at risk if the foundation isn’t waterproofed correctly.
Thankfully, there is a better option: Paramount.
