Load Ready Utility Bag | Heavy-Duty Hauling Review: What Is A Load Ready Utility Bag?

A load ready utility bag is a carry all bag designed to hold your gear while you are out on a hike or other outdoor activity. You can use it to store your food, water bottles, camera equipment, etc.

There are many different types of these bags available from various manufacturers. Some have a shoulder strap with loops at the top so you can attach them to your backpack straps or even a belt loop if you prefer. Others come without any attachment points at all and just have zippers on the sides so they zip closed when not in use.

The main purpose of a load ready utility bag is to make carrying everything you need easier. These bags are usually made of durable materials such as nylon, canvas, or leather. They are often padded to protect your back during long hikes and activities.

Most of them feature a wide opening for easy access to your items inside and outside the bag. There may be additional pockets on the interior side for storing small accessories like keys, cell phone cases, or other small necessities.

Some load ready bags have rigid frames inside of them to help prevent them from collapsing when empty or overly full. Other bags are not rigid and can fold up almost completely flat when they are not in use. These types of bags are often used as a substitute for a pillow or as an emergency blanket on the go.

There are many different options when it comes to choosing your load ready bag. You can pick one based on your specific activity or by picking one that you think looks the prettiest. It is important to consider how often you will be using it and for what purpose.

If you are going to be spending a lot of time outdoors hiking and backpacking, you may want to choose a bag with heavier material and thicker padding. This will ensure it lasts longer and is comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

If you only plan to use your load ready bag a few times a year, you may want to choose one with more style and perhaps even some small decorative features. You can also pick based on what occasion you wish to carry it. For example, if you wish to carry it to a music festival, you may want to purchase a bag with brighter colors or an interesting pattern.

If you are going on a relaxing hike in the woods, you can go with something a little more subdued.

Best 5.11 Load Ready Haul Pack In 2019

Our first choice is the 5.11 Tactical Rush 24 Backpack (Khaki/Black). This is a high-quality bag that is very affordable.

It has a lot of reviews from people who use it for hiking and traveling and highly recommend it. It is a good size for carrying clothes, water bottles, food, and other supplies for multi-day treks.

The bag is made with a sturdy nylon material to ensure long-lasting use and durability. It has two large pockets for storing your clothes and other things. It also has multiple smaller pockets that are great for storing additional supplies like your water bottles, power bars, car keys, mobile phone, and whatever else you may need while on the trail.

On the front of the bag there are two smaller zippered pockets for storing valuables like your wallet or cell phone. It has padded shoulder straps and a waist belt to help take the weight off of your shoulders. The base of the bag also has four small wheels so you can easily pull it behind you.

Pros:

This is a very affordable bag. It has more than enough room for multi-day backpacking or hiking trips. The multiple pockets help keep your things organized and easy to find.

The bag is very durable and sturdy. It can be used for a variety of different activities like camping, travel, and school.

Cons:

The bag is better suited for shorter people because it does not have a padded back. It would be nice if the bag had additional side pockets.

Another great option is the Tactical Rush 12 Backpack (Khaki/Black). This bag is smaller and has less storage space than the Tactical Rush 24 Backpack, but it is still large enough to carry the essentials for short hikes or weekend adventures.

It is made with the same high-quality materials and has the same durability as the Tactical Rush 24 Backpack. It has padded shoulder straps and a waist belt to help distribute the weight and make it more comfortable to carry. The bag also has multiple interior and exterior pockets to help keep your things organized and easy to find.

This bag is available in three different color options: black, khaki/black, and coyote.

Pros:

Just like the Tactical Rush 24 Backpack, this bag is very affordable and can be used for a variety of different activities. It is large enough to hold the essentials while still remaining compact and lightweight. The multiple pockets help keep your things organized.

It is very durable and sturdy.

Cons:

This bag is not as big as the Tactical Rush 24 Backpack. It would be nice if it had additional side pockets.

The 5.11 Rush 72 Backpack (Black) is the last of the backpacks made by 5.11 that we will look at.

This bag can carry A LOT of stuff and is very durable and affordable. It is a little larger than the other two backpacks we looked at so far, but it also has a lot more storage space so that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

This bag is designed to be very covert. The 600 Denier Polyester fabric is black, but has a special coating that allows the bag to reflect radar signals and make the bag look like it has large blobs on it rather than looking like a person carrying a bag. It also includes a special patch that can be Velcroed onto the bag that says “Do Not Open, Property Of US Government, Violators Will Be Prosecuted” to make it even more covert.

This backpack includes several special internal and external pockets designed to carry firearms and other law enforcement related gear. It can also carry anything you would need for a 3-day excursion. This bag is definitely designed with the preparedness minded in mind.

The shoulder straps and padded to help distribute the weight evenly and provide additional comfort. It also has a waist belt to help take some of the pressure off of your shoulders. The backpack also has an internal frame to help distribute the weight.

Pros:

This bag is very affordable, especially for the amount of stuff you can fit in it. It has plenty of storage space with enough pockets to help keep your stuff organized. It is very durable and is designed to be covert.

The backpack has a lot of comfortable padding to help make it more comfortable to carry when it’s full. The internal frame helps distribute the weight and makes it easier to carry when it’s full.

Cons:

The bag’s color (Jet Black) makes it a little harder to conceal compared to some of the other bags on this list. The bag only comes in black, which could be a give away if you are trying to be stealthy. Like some of the other bags, this one also has the brand name written in bold letters on the front, which is less than ideal for a bag meant to be used for covert operations.

The Verdict

Out of all of the bags listed here, I would personally go with the 5.11 Tactical Series Rush 72 Backpack (Black) because it provides a lot of storage space, is affordable, durable, and most importantly, very covert.

While some of the other bags offer a few more bells and whistles, the 5.11 Tactical Rush 72 has everything you really need without all the extra stuff that you don’t. It’s also cheaper than a lot of the other bags listed here which is great for people on a budget like myself.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this bag is the fact that the color stands out and it has the brand name written across front of the bag in big bold letters. To counter this, you could always spray paint the bag a darker color or even get a bag of gravel and stuff it in a dark color duffel bag to put over the bag (this is what I do).

Other than that, this bag is a great value and will serve you well.

I hope this article helps you find the best bug out bag for your needs. Just remember, it’s always better to get a smaller bag that you can actually carry instead of a large bag that you won’t be able to lift!
